Career Connection Academy White Coat

The White Coat Ceremony was held Tuesday, April 12th in the CAIHS Auditorium. Twenty Nine Career Connection Academy Students were recognized and received their White Coates for their initial participation and service in the Health Field. CCEDC’s White Coat ceremony symbolize higher education commitment for First Generation College Bound High School Students at CAIHS in the Healthcare After School program. The White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage, welcoming students into the medical profession and emphasizing compassionate patient care at the very start of training. During the ceremony, students will come forward to be cloaked by a healthcare professional with a personalized white lab coat and certificate.

Career Connection Academy, an after-school program which provides first generation college bound students with an opportunity to explore healthcare and practice life skills to ensure future success.

Career Connection Academy is an initiative of the Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC). The innovative program is being held at Coatesville Intermediate High School.

Career Connection Academy offers fifty students weekly, two-hour afterschool workshops, an opportunity to view a live surgery, and mentorship from our visiting medical and business partners. Students enter the program at level one and matriculate to level two the next year. The goal is to support the students throughout high school, so they have the support and encouragement to graduate and consider post-secondary education or training.
